CIBC to provide Let's Play BC with additional funding
At Hoopfest 2018 we announced a new partnership between CIBC and Let's Play BC.
Such an exciting time when you can combine support for our annual fundraising event and bring a new partner to help Let's Play BC. With 97 Chair Champions spread around the province, the support CIBC will provide lets us purchase another kids sport chair to get into the community.
There are so many stories to tell of how these chairs have impacted the everyday life of the kids that need them the most. Recently we partnered with Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence in Victoria who wanted to do a physcial literacy pilot program in Nanaimo. Through a call to the community, we were able to identify six kids who were in need of sport wheelchairs, not only to participate in this pilot program, but to take back into their schools and community to incorporate more active healthy participation with their friends, peers, family and school programs.
The recipient of the new sport chair, raised through the live auction from Hoopfest 2017, is a young girl from Vancouver. Not only has the chair enabled her to be more active at school with her friends, but she asked to use some of our inventory of chairs most recently for her birthday party, so her friends could try them and participate in some fun "wheeling" activities with her as part of the birthday celebrations.
See, just a couple of real life stories of how lives are being changed, kids becoming more active, and communities and schools becoming more fun for kids to PLAY!
