Team BC Heading to Halifax for Canada Winter Games
Wheelchair Basketball Team BC is ready and all pumped to go into Halifax on February 10th.
The team has been preparing for the games since this summer, having several training camps and competing in Division 2 league against adult club teams. Some of the older athletes including team co-captains Avril Harris and Deion Green have been competing in Division 1 as well in which national team and provincial athletes compete. The experience in the higher league for sure prepared them for the heated games expected in Halifax.
Head Coach Cheryl Corrigan remarks that ‘We have a great team with a combination of experience and youthful exuberance! They have really come together and are ready to compete in Halifax. We expect to come home with a medal, and definitely want to thank not just the Division I and II players for helping prepare us, but also athletes' family and everyone at BCWBS, Team BC and CSC – Pacific.’
